Bhagavad Gita Chapter 10 Verse 16

भगवद् गीता अध्याय 10 श्लोक 16

वक्तुमर्हस्यशेषेण दिव्या ह्यात्मविभूतयः।
याभिर्विभूतिभिर्लोकानिमांस्त्वं व्याप्य तिष्ठसि।।10.16।।

English Translation - Swami Gambirananda

10.16 Be pleased to speak in full of Your own manifestations which are indeed divine, through which manifestations You exist pervading these worlds.

English Translation - Swami Sivananda

10.16 Thou shouldst indeed tell, without reserve, of Thy divine glories by which Thou existest, pervading all these worlds. (None else can do so.)

10.16. You are [alone] capable of fully declaring the auspicious manifesting powers of Yours, by which manifesting power You remain pervading these worlds.

10.16 वक्तुम् to tell? अर्हसि (Thou) shouldst? अशेषेण without reminder? दिव्याः divine? हि indeed? आत्मविभूतयः Thy glories? याभिः by which? विभूतिभिः by glories? लोकान् worlds? इमान् these? त्वम् Thou? व्याप्य having pervaded? तिष्ठसि existest.No Commentary.

10.16 Arhasi, be pleased; vaktum, to speak; asesena, in full; atmavibhutayah, of Your own manifestations; divyah hi, which are indeed divine; yabhih, through which; vibhutibhih, manifestations, manifestations of Your glory; tisthasi, You exist; vyapya, pervading; iman, these; lokan, worlds.

English Translation of Ramanuja's Sanskrit Commentary

10.16 Whatever manifestations there be that are divine, unie to Yourself - You alone are capable of describing them without exception. You reveal them Yourself is the meaning. With these innumerable Vibhutis, these instances of your manifestation indicating Your will to rule, You abide, pervading all these worlds as their controller. What is the need for such description? The answer follows:

“It is difficult to understand the truth about you. Therefore, I want to know about your vibhutis. Your vibhutis are very attractive (divya). You should speak about them fully.” “But it is impossible to speak of all of my vibhutis fully.” “Speak about those vibhutis by which you spread yourself in this world.”

Only Lord Krishna is known to Himself and able to elaborate upon His transcendental, majestic opulence and not the demi-gods or any other gods. Therefore all His divine attributes and phenomenal qualities which are pervading throughout all creation should mercifully be described by Him.

The word vibhutayah means transcendental opulence denoting vivida bhutayah or Lord Krishnas multitudinous manifestations in many wonderful and phenomenal forms.

Whatever glories and wondrous phenomenal activities that manifest and exist as a result of the Supreme Lord Krishna; only He and He alone is able to describe and elaborate upon them as only He alone is capable of displaying them. His glories are unlimited and endless and as He is proficient in the governing of all creation through His all pervading aspect and the governing of all beings by His paramatma aspect within all beings as the Supreme soul.
